I am all caught up on my BOM from Bunny Hill. Anne has no idea that I used her BOM as my therapy when my Gall Bladder acted up. I am anxiously awaiting October's block. I will have a embroidered quilt done for Xmas, YEAH!!!

Going to Market

The catalog is ready to print, patterns are ready and we will soon be driving to Houston, Texas. From our humble abode it is just a good stretch of the legs, (24 hour drive). All through beautiful prairie country. All of the work and fun has been worth it as we bring fun, new designs to the shops across America and the world. Here are two more Bunny Hill BOM blocks I have finished. I am working on August and before you know it, September's Block will be here and I will only need four more to make a quilt, YES!!!!



This is a very recent photo of my daughter Kathrine. She has the cutest girls and is finding a new life alone, as her husband passed away. You just never know what life will bring to you but she has been greatly been blessed. Her preschool starts on Tuesday and she has five budding students plus her four year old Brooke. She is keeping very busy and seems be happy all the time.

Redwork

Recovery seems a bit slow. I have however finished a few more redwork blocks. This has been an unexpected treat, while getting better. I am now up to block five and counting. I can't wait until the fifth of each month to be able to download another block.

Creative break

I just loved this cup that comes with it's own little glass spoon. There is just one problem with it . . . the handle gets hot because there is lead in it . . . I just repurposed it to hold things near the sewing machine.

I guess this is where I explain that I had a Gall Bladder attack and have been forced to take a creative break while recovering. I am feeling much better but have not yet started to finish my market projects.

That being said, I have been embroidering my BOM from Bunny Hill Designs. Anne makes the cutest things and I am on block 6 with my Red work blocks. (Photos tomorrow)
I rarely make something just for me and I am quite pleased with the feeling that has come from this project. Thank you Anne for giving me a moment to pause and remember to love myself as well as my creativity.


I miss my sewing studio. It is a bedroom lined with wonderful things and shelves of course. I need to straighted it up but since I have lost two weeks at least to this fun adventure, I will put that off and just plunge ahead with confidence that I will be ready when the Black Truck pulls out of AZ, headed for Texas in October . . .



I am feeling so blessed as I rest and do basically nothing all day while my dear husband calls and wants to know what he can bring me or if I want him to come home and sit by my side. . . I just love this Sweet Guy . . .

Catching up

It is time to share my latest effort to catch up with the Bunny Hill BOM. January block is done and pressed. Two more almost done and working on number four. This is fun to just do something for myself. I am also working on the blocks with machine applique so I will have 2 quilts when I finish. Yeah!!

The new design is coming along nicely with some embroidery going tomorrow morning to my sister in California who is the artist. It will be beautiful when completed.

Quilt Festival Long Beach

This is an embroidered, hand pieced, hand quilted, quilt that will be for sale there. It is quite lovely.

I am working on a new pattern for Winter Friends Towels and those will be at the show too!

Teacup Pincushions have been made and are packaged, we have lots to choose from.

Our final preparations are underway for the Long Beach Quilt Festival. Boxes of goodies are everywhere.

So much to do, so little time. We leave Tuesday for Long Beach and can't wait to get there. It is so much fun to see everyone and just visit and of course buy wonderful things.

Fall and Spring patterns

The photos aren't great but I have been working on things. This has been a fun few weeks, choosing designs and fabric for new things for the upcoming Long Beach Show. We leave in two weeks, OUCH!!

I make some cute teacup pincushions and found antique silver pie servers at a great antique shop. Both will be coming with me. Don't you just love real silverware? It makes me think of Grandma and Mom. How I enjoy finding a piece that matches my mothers set.

I am off to make table covers for the show.

Girly Girl Apron

These Girly Girl Aprons are for my daughters summer break get togethers she hosts for her daughter's friends. Aren't they just so cute! She is a bargin shopper and purchased these curtain valances on clearance and then we cut them up into aprons. Clever idea!

Wedding Quilt

Finally Prairie Rose is finished and a photo taken. You will find this on the Website www.homesteadstationdesigns.com. I am please with the fun yoyo roses in the center of each square.

The Wedding Quilt has arrived back from the quilter's and is beautiful. I have put the binding on and it proudly hangs on the family room wall. I made the top for our wedding last August and then had everyone sign it. I was a bit slow in getting it to the quilter but it is now finished and we are so pleased. Let me know what you think.

Gardening fun

It is a beautiful morning, early but beautiful. The sun will be poking it's head up soon and the air is so still. The perfect time of day, in my humble opinion. No one else is awake and the phone is not ringing . . . just time for me and my thoughts. I always feel blessed when I arise early.

Our cute but pathetic pepper has finally arrived. I don't want to be greedy, just want nature to do it's things, . . . please . . .

I know it's not much but the cucumber has finally decided to grow just a wee bit. We had a huge tomatoe but the splits in it just made it spoil on the vine. I Hate when that happens.

Our first ear of corn has been picked and it was Goooooooood! We have lots more coming, want to come to a B-B Q? We will have corn and burgers to our hearts content.
I am off to make a fun table runner and perhaps a wall quilt. . . we shall see what appears when the day is done.

Garden treats

The Salvia's color is so deep blue with the pinks and whites of the garden, you almost want a hundred of them just to gaze at while you sew. That's not a bad idea, perhaps I will go and get a few more later today!

My Shamrocks, both green and purple are in full bloom. I have had this plant for 30 years now and it still just keeps on blooming. I smile each time I look at it.

This beautiful John F. Kennedy rose, bloomed for the first time today! It is a beauty. I have 2 pink and 2 white roses so far but the rose garden is far from done.

The flower bed is outside my sewing room window and it brings inspiration with each new blossom.
