Felt Adventures

This is the cutest design from The Country Loft in La Mesa, CA.  When my sister came from San Diego, she brought the pattern and I quickly went to my felt stash and whipped up this little gal.  She is cute, fun and just right for Spring.  One more thing done, YEAH!!!

Sister Party

My sister Darlene from San Diego was here for the weekend, what fun!  Look at the cute apron we made, one for each of us.  We ate at Cracker Barrel for lunch.  It was a good time.

Happy Easter Morning

A beautiful bird nest with Aqua egg from a french antique store.  My aqua antique vase from a recent trip to a different antique store.  It is already claimed by one daughter.

Bella Diva provided these metal birds in just the right stage of antiquing.

It wouldn't be Easter without a Chocolate Bunny from Lindt.  A gift from a dear friend.

And then there are the violets, 6 plants currently, all in bloom for this beautiful Easter Day!

This is a wonderful Easter Morning!  The temperature is a balmy 65 at 7:30am and the flowers are blooming.  We went to a beautiful Easter Pagent this week that stirred our hearts.  The Mesa Temple Easter Pagent is attended by our family each year, it is a tradition that has gone on for 20 years.  We have an easter egg hunt while there.  The children love it.

Garden Flowers

The bounty of winter flowers never ceases to bring joy to my heart and a smile to my face. Alas when in June and July when all the others gardens are beautiful . . . mine will be gone as the sun bakes the plants until another September comes . . . thank you rain for adding the bit of sparkle each morning . . .

Autumn

Lovely fall flowers await Thanksgiving Day! I look forward in anticipation to the family and fun that always comes with the holidays. We don't seem to take the time to visit with those we care about often enough. Let's all make a little more effort to let those who are special to us . . . how and why we care so much about them. I can't wait to smell the turkey.

Fall is in the Air

Fall is in the air but not in my Flowerbed. Just look what the Impatients are up to. The Zinnia's have gone wild as well. I sure enjoy looking at this from my studio window. We may have heat in the summer but winter is just beautiful!!!

Antique Gate

I found this in Globe, AZ in a treasure of an Antique shop, owned by Susan with the flowing red hair. She was just delightful and when we asked her to take it down from it's statly place on her wall, she cheerfully obliged. It will remain a treasure because it reminds me of my grandmother's gate and fence.

It is hard to see in the shade but it is with the Zinnia's and Impatients . . . so pretty.

Who would have thought a rusty old gate would give so much pleasure to someone. There it is in all of it's glory, in my flower bed/garden . . . I love it.

Garden treats

The Salvia's color is so deep blue with the pinks and whites of the garden, you almost want a hundred of them just to gaze at while you sew. That's not a bad idea, perhaps I will go and get a few more later today!

My Shamrocks, both green and purple are in full bloom. I have had this plant for 30 years now and it still just keeps on blooming. I smile each time I look at it.

This beautiful John F. Kennedy rose, bloomed for the first time today! It is a beauty. I have 2 pink and 2 white roses so far but the rose garden is far from done.

The flower bed is outside my sewing room window and it brings inspiration with each new blossom.

Jars full of buttons

Watch for these. They work wonderfully without taking away from your project.


It is time to put some buttons on the latest project. Wouldn't you know it, I have everyone but the right one. It figures . . . and I was so close to finishing. Off to the store to find just the right Hillcreek Buttons, check her website: www.hillcreekbuttons.com Have you seen them. They are flat without a glossy finish. She makes most every color that DMC floss comes in and they are fantastic! I find them to be just the right accent. Do you think this one is too small?


Aren't these just the prettest pink carnations you've ever seen?? What luck when I found them at Home Desperate. I have three plants that are just covered. I am not sure how long they bloom but I hope all summer.


Buttons and ribbons galore, waiting to adorn a quilt or wall hanging. Just patiently waiting for their turn to be stitched. They remind me to keep piecing and creating. Not one trim left behind is my motto.
