Finally a Finish

I needed a pick me up today, so I whipped up this table runner from 2 1/2" strips from 5 fat quarters and a 1/2 yard of fabric for the back, plus batting. It took about two hours and now I have something cheery for my table. How could I not smile when I see this???

Tablerunner Finish, Take not Prisioners

Still taking no prisioners, I made this table runner from the scraps from the Irish Chain quilt top. I have enough to make potholders but have not had time yet . . .

Of course there is the lusious fudge that came to the door last night. A neighborly thank you for the lettuce we share and the yummy tamales that came last night. Thank you to all . . . and a Merry Christmas as well . . .



Quilted table runner number seven is now completed. One daughter requested Easter so here it is in her colors with my bunny applique. Each row is quilted individually in its own color . . . and now . . .


This is the end of the eight table runner. I embroidered Celebrate so that it could be used for any occasion . . . I quilted each set of blocks in the same color. I thought it came out nice . . .


This is number eight in the series of table runner for Christmas . . .

It seems that the gifts are more important than anything else when it is 3 days till Christmas. I am working on the princess quilt for the five year old granddaughter . . . it would have been farther along but babysitting got in the way last night. That is always a good excuse to get out of the studio and play! . . . More on the princess quilt to come.

Table Runners

While stitching up a storm, I finished two table runners for Christmas. Pretty easy and quick. I think they will be nice gifts. I only needed one in Burgundy and Navy and now three with earth tones, one is done and hopefully one more today. Cross you fingers. Both patterns are from Anika's Treasures. Well written and fun to do! Thanks Anika.

Santa's Coming

One more table runner finished. This is for another daughter-in-law who requested Santa and then selected this one. I know it is simple but I have 6 more to go and only have one more cut out . . . hurry . . . hurry . . . hurry!!!

Santa Tablerunner

I borrowed this Santa from Art to Heart and am making table runner #2 with one on each end of it. It is just so darn cute . . . I am excited to be getting one more done as time's awasting . . .

Christmas

Money is usually given to all of the 10 children but this year, being what it is, I have decided, (an unwise choice because of time and life), to make each one a table runner. They could select everyday, christmas or another holiday. This is tablerunner number one. Now just nine more to go . . . I think I need to finish one every other day to be ready in time.

How am I doing so far? Next up is a Santa or Pointsetta table runner. Still mulling that one over. The tree was fun and easy in a new book. I want to make the whole quilt but maybe for next year.

Good People

The best people are moving. We don't really know them well but they have a warm and friendly presence about themselves and in their home. You have met people like them before, they just draw you in with their smiles and love. You can't resist them. The are as cute as Barbie and Ken with perhaps five children in tow. Now they are moving, tomorrow and I shall miss them. Just knowing that they are there has somehow made me feel welcome in our neighborhood. Being able to wave at them as you drive past is so reassuring that they are around.

The truck comes tomorrow to load all of their precious things into. Folks they know are coming to help and it will all be over with in a few short hours. They will load themselves into their car and drive to Texas where they are from, where a better job awaits, where their family has their arms open to gather them in.

I wanted them to have a bit of us to take with them, to remember the wave and nod as we drove past. I wanted them to know they were special to me. I gave the new table runner to them so they will have a bit of us, a remberance of conversations and helping that now means so much. So have a good trip, be safe and remember those of us who really enjoyed you . . . as you passed through our lives . . .

One More

One more Christmas Table Runner finished and ready to be enjoyed. I am having a fun time just making things at leisure and using what I have on hand. I rarely have time to make a few things for myself and I find this a real treat! I goes with the Festive Season Table Runner from Hatched and Patched.

Festive Season

Another project done, Festive Season from Hatched and Patched. When I first started the embroidery, I thought it would be teadous and take a long time but doing it in the evenings, it didn't take long at all. I can't wait to place it on the table in the front room and just enjoy it.

Redwork in the Evening

I love Hatched and Patched. I have finished embroidering this lovely table runner and am now in the process of making the blocks that surround it. I can't wait until Christmas to show it off. This must be the longest embroidery project I have ever made. I am quite pleased with it.

I am furiously working on my 11th Bunny Hill BOM. I will post that soon.

Stash works

Gardening fun

It is a beautiful morning, early but beautiful. The sun will be poking it's head up soon and the air is so still. The perfect time of day, in my humble opinion. No one else is awake and the phone is not ringing . . . just time for me and my thoughts. I always feel blessed when I arise early.

Our cute but pathetic pepper has finally arrived. I don't want to be greedy, just want nature to do it's things, . . . please . . .

I know it's not much but the cucumber has finally decided to grow just a wee bit. We had a huge tomatoe but the splits in it just made it spoil on the vine. I Hate when that happens.

Our first ear of corn has been picked and it was Goooooooood! We have lots more coming, want to come to a B-B Q? We will have corn and burgers to our hearts content.
I am off to make a fun table runner and perhaps a wall quilt. . . we shall see what appears when the day is done.
